My recent work as a stand-in and photo double for lead actor Emma Stone on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has led to some exciting opportunities in the last few months.
In July, I flew out to Los Angeles for a photo shoot and interview for ELLE magazine. The article — “I’ll Have A Double” featuring stand-ins for A-list celebrities — appeared in the November 2013 “Women In Hollywood” issue. You can read more about it here.
A few weeks ago after the issue came out, I was contacted by the ELLE staff to contribute to a follow-up piece for television. A few days later, I was in the Hearst offices in New York City filming a segment for Entertainment Tonight! I first did a sit-down interview answering questions about working as a stand-in and photo double. Then we shot footage of me being styled in the beautiful Prabal Gurung dress from the ELLE photo shoot.
It’s been amazing to have been a part of the ELLE article and the segment on Entertainment Tonight. Stand-ins are an integral part of the making of films and television shows and are often uncredited. I’ve been thrilled to be able to share my experiences through these recent opportunities and to tell people what being a stand-in is all about!
