According to an article in West Newsmagazine, Shailene Woodley lookalike Rebecca Ray ended up cashing in on her similarity to the star by landing a stand-in job for the actor on the film Divergent.

After seeking out a casting company on Facebook, Rebecca found herself in the running for a stand-in job for the actor. For auditions, Rebecca traveled from Missouri to Chicago, and when the job came down to Rebecca and another hopeful, the cinematographer chose Rebecca.

The interview process for stand-ins usually isn’t ultra competitive, but the process in choosing Shailene Woodley’s stand-in for this film may have been so rigorous because of the need for a doppelgänger of the actor’s character in a dream sequence. Rebecca played that onscreen role in the film.

In an interview with KTIV, Rebecca explains the patience she needed in standing in on Divergent. “Usually it was a 12 hours day if not longer. And depending on how intricate the lighting is, or what the set’s like, […] we would be standing in the same place for an hour or more. And so you really really have to be patient and just be there to help the cinematographers and the lighting people […]”
