While not a member of SAG-AFTRA, Jamari Milton knows how to stand in.
In police lineups, that is.
High school senior Jamari Milton plays football for the Thornton Fractional North High School Meteors in Calumet City, Illinois. His part-time job is working as a stand-in in police lineups for the Calumet City Police Department. He was recently profiled in an article in the The Times of Northwest Indiana.
Jamari says of the stand-in work: “You stand up there and someone looks at you and the others.” A self-described “law-abiding citizen,” he says he has fortunately never been picked from the lineup.
Jamari learned from his work as a stand-in at the police department the behind-the-scenes workings of police work, and he developed an admiration and respect for their work. Similarly, stand-ins in TV and film learn the behind-the-scenes of their field, and they also often develop admiration and respect for those around whom they work.
