Back in 2013, we posted an article on Ella Slack, the stand-in for Queen Elizabeth on televised appearances. Recently, Ella visited radio station WTMJ in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and recorded an interview about her experiences standing in for the Queen over the past twenty-seven years.
Retired from the BBC, Ella accepts no compensation for her stand-in work, which she thoroughly enjoys. In the interview, she shares how she landed the job of the Queen’s stand-in, the technological changes in television she’s witnessed over the course of her job, and the various places she has worked in her stand-in career.
