Recently we uncovered a YouTube gem published five years ago by stand-in Donnell Adler.
In the video, Donnell gives a great overview of the job of TV/film stand-in, notably walking the viewer through the important points of the job. If you’ve never stood in before on a TV or film set, you might get an idea of what the work will look like.
She also gives details about working as a photo double and special ability background actor. Photo doubling and doing special ability work as a stand-in can yield more money for stand-ins on union sets.
Rather than list what Donnell says, have a watch! (You might have to watch it on YouTube by clicking here.)
